Alpha Xi Delta

Zeta Xi at Auburn University

Chapter History

The Zeta Xi Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta was colonized in the fall of 1979. Pledging 85 women, the chapter was installed by Betty Steger-Moulton, one of the National Chapter Officers.  The installation Ceremony was held on January 17th, 1980.  Chapter meetings were held in the lower quad until the construction of the new "Hill" Dorms.  Zeta Xi Chapter was officially housed in Dowell Hall and happily shared a dorm with the sisters of Delta Delta Delta.

In August of 2009, all of the Auburn sorority chapters relocated from "The Hill" dorms to "The Village", Auburn's premiere residential community.  The chapter now happily resides on the third floor of Oak Hall, which is also home to the sisters of Delta Zeta, Alpha Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma and Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Over half of the original 95 colony sisters have attended the chapter's 30th and 35th Anniversary Celebrations.  The chapter is supported by a Housing Corporation Board under the leadership of 4 of our original founding members.  The Sisters of Alpha Xi Delta at Auburn University are looking forward to planning the 40th Anniversary reunion in January of 2020!
